Navigation devices
POIdo partners with offline location-based devices, such as most in-car navigators, where the site is the navigation software. The developer (or distributor) of such software receives an ad database with API.
Conditions
POIdo needs to interact with such ad sites on a regular basis to update the ad database; the product’s software essentially reminds the POI database to renew itself in the navigator. The update usually takes place simultaneously with other map updates.
There may be a requirement for additional memory for ad database storage.
Benefit
50% of income from advertisers is reserved for ad site owners; the revenue is paid at the end of each quarter based on statistical reports from the ad site.
Location-based web apps
Ads are placed in web apps using interactive maps. In this case a location-based website can become an ad site even if there is no direct interaction with the map. For example, if a customer buys an airline ticket to Moscow the ticket booking website will show ads for hotels and information on events in the city during that time.
Benefit
Advertisers pay for the number of clicks to the website (pay-per-click). Ad site owners (websites or web services) receive 50% of income from the advertisers.
Location-based apps on mobile phones
Ads are shown to a user when he opens a location-based app and searches for a location or simply looks at the map. The great advantage is that the target customer can simply click on the link to make the call.
Conditions
POIdo needs constant interaction with the user device to collect statistics and response rate.
Benefit
Advertisers pay per-call or per-click, and 50% of total income received from advertisers goes to ad site owners.
